The Skin Health Education Day was first offered in 2018, since then it has become an annual event. This event is suitable for nurses, GPs and pharmacists and other healthcare providers with an AHPRA registration.
It aims to improve knowledge of all medical professionals in a range of dermatological topics. The program for this event is changed each year, with new topics and updates being offered, along with a variety of dermatologists and dermatology registrars presenting.
2026- Saturday 24 and Sunday 25th October
This year’s event will be the first time we will offer a 2-day event. By running a 2-day event, we are hoping to attract more regional and rural nurses and GP’s to attend.
Topics for this year include:
- Natural isn’t necessarily good! Frgrances and natural products including ACD
- Skin care – the essentials and what works including optimizing anit-ageing ingredients
- Acne update – key advice and current treatments
- The gut microbiome- does it play a role in dermatology
- Supplements and the skin – is there evidence they work
- Common skin conditions in adults
- Sunscreens – creating trust in our patients
- Sunscreens- what’s new and what you need to know
- Eczema update: management through the ages
- Wounds – tips and tricks
- Treatment advances in dermatology including HS, atopic derm, psoriasis and melanoma
- Ageing skin – perimenopause and menopause
- Nails: an update
- Common skin conditions in children
- Food allergy update
- Dermoscopy update
