Associate Professors Rosemary Nixon is the only dual qualified dermatologist and occupational physician in Australia. Rosemary and her team are available for workplace visits to help prevent and manage occupational contact dermatitis. This may include reviewing work practices so see how these could be improved to reduce contact with irritants and allergens or reviewing skin care products and regimes that aid prevention and treatment of contact dermatitis. These visits are tailored to the specific workplace. Please email us for further information.

The ODREC team are available to give presentations to a range of workplaces that are interested in preventing and raising awareness about occupational contact dermatitis. Historically we have presented to healthcare organisations, pharmaceutical companies, mining groups, food and aircraft manufacturing, and metal production plants to name a few.

We can tailor talks specifically to your workplace needs and can discuss ways contact dermatitis can be prevented and managed, address work practices, glove selection and skin care options to give a few examples.

Please email us for further information.

The patch testing clinics welcome dermatology visitors both locally and internationally to attend the 3 days of clinics (held in one week; Monday, Wednesday, Friday). By attending the 3 appointments, visitors get a thorough understanding of what happens at each appointment, and it is most beneficial to those interested in learning about patch testing.

We offer options to visit the occupational dermatology clinic and/or the general patch testing clinics.

Attendance at the clinics is popular so it is important to organise this well ahead of time. Please email us if you are interested in attending to discuss availability.

Some of the dermatologists at SHI are available to perform medicolegal assessments and reports. A request from an insurer is required. Additional fees for this service apply. Please email us for further information.
