Patch test certificate

The Patch test certificate (for nurses) is a brand-new educational initiative that has recently become available for dermatology nurses and registrars. A more comprehensive certificate for dermatology consultants and senior registrars will be available in early 2026.

This certificate is a self-paced training package that covers all aspects of patch testing, from deciding who to test, what allergens to choose and making up patient own samples. It also has a practical component so you can make sure you understand how to do everything properly from start to finish, especially in terms of diluting samples and applying patches and following the numbering system.

A new, shorter certificate, the Express Patch Test Certificate: the practical side only, is also now available. This is shorter and less comprehensive but covers only the practical aspects such as making, applying and removing patch testing, without all the theory and information about diagnosis and series.
